Motion compensation systems are designed to nullify the effects of heave, or the effects of the drilling vessels vertical motion on the fixed and rotating drill string and bit. Hannon has extensive years in repairing and modifying both DSC’s and CMC’s.

Drill String Compensator (DSC)

Mounted between the traveling block and the hook, connected to the deck mounted air pressure vessel by standpipes and hose loops and can be operated manually and electrically from the deck mounted control console.

Crown Mounted Compensators (CMC)

Two vertically mounted compression type cylinders attached to a rigid frame mounted to the derrick water table.

ASME, ABS and DNV certifications are available.
