Conductor Tensioning Unit (CTU)

Hannon Hydraulics custom designs conductor tensioning units (CTU) to fit your specific needs. Our CTU’s consist of a hydraulic power unit (HPU), beam foundations, four jack cylinders and a split reactor ring with three sets of split insert rings.

Our CTU will tension various size of conductor pipes, we manufacture to the following outside diameter (OD) pipe sizing:

• 48 inch
• 42 inch
• 36 inch
• 30 inch

The foundation of the CTU has a detachable beam that allows a 90-degree opening to capture the pipe column. Our split reactor ring halves fit around the captured pipe and are locked together with high steel pins.

The split insert ring halves slip inside the split reactor ring assembly for smaller pipe sizes; lift the reactor ring assembly up to one foot and apply the desired pipe tension as adjusted by the operator at the HPU control panel. Cylinders can be locked in the extended position with local isolation valves hidden below the beam surface.

The unit is plumbed with steel tubing that runs below the beam surface and is protected by stainless steel sheet covers.

Manufacturing record books are included and all components are painted with a marine three part coating system.

ABS and DNV certifications are available.
